Lindsey did an unbelievable job and things couldn’t have gone better. Everyone is well and we are enjoying our time with all 4 of us now.

Emotions are running like we all do but they couldn’t be better.  You’ll be hearing from us by phone very soon.

Hopefully she’ll begin progressing a little bit faster as they up the medicine.

The doctor that will probably be delivering Dylan looks all but about 12 years old so that’s nice too. Really, he’s a great guy.  Glad he’s the one here.

]]> http://www.thegottliebfamily.net/2009/10/more-progression/feed/ 0 We’re HERE!!! http://www.thegottliebfamily.net/2009/10/were-here/ http://www.thegottliebfamily.net/2009/10/were-here/#comments Sat, 03 Oct 2009 08:31:07 +0000 david http://www.thegottliebfamily.net/2009/10/were-here/ So it’s 3:30 on Saturday morning and we are at the hospital.  Lindsey’s water broke at 1:16 this morning.  It was a little crazy.  I swore I wouldn’t panic but I did.  We didn’t have everything we needed together and ready so I was running around the house throwing stuff together.  Lindsey’s mom is on her way to the house now and our awesome neighbor is at the house with Drew now.

We were flying here because her contractions were really strong and she was in a bit of pain.  When we got here, I went to find a wheel chair for her so I’m running all over the hospital trying to find one.  I think the one I got was for a one-legged person because there was only one leg rest on it.  I have no idea whose it was but someone might be upset tomorrow morning.  Of course, leave it to me, I was getting her in it and trying to adjust the leg rest and dropped it right on her leg.  Kinda funny.

 

Anyway, that’s the deal.  I’ll be updating all day long as things progress.

In a prior appointment a couple of weeks ago she mentioned that at 39 weeks if things were favorable that she would give us an option to be induced since it was our second child and have been down that road before.  After lots of thought and discussion between David and I, we had agreed that if she did give us the option this morning, that we would take it. 

I have so many things running through my mind right now, I had really gotten my heart set on going in tomorrow.  There was no change as far as dilating/effacing, and I was 1 day shy of 39 weeks…. she did not want to schedule us at this point.  I have been a bit disappointed today, but I know in my heart that this is the right thing.  These things always seem to work out for a reason.

Unless Dylan decides to arrive in his own fashionable way, we are scheduled to be induced on Tuesday (10/6) at 5:00am.  When she mentioned the time to us we both looked at each other… that is going to make for a long day!  With Drew’s delivery, they put us in the night before which was much less stressful… but since I am much further along now than I ever was with Drew, there is no reason to admit me the night before. 

Friday will be my last day of work until after Christmas.  I am looking forward to spending this fall at home bonding with Dylan and having nice quality time with David and Drew!

If anything changes between now and Tuesday, I will certainly let you all know… if not, check back on Tuesday for the latest… David will probably pick up with the posts at that time as we welcome the arrival of Dylan Reid!!  :)
