Last night was the first of 4 parenting classes held by St. Vincents (the hospital where we go). Luckily, there was an option to attend the class at One Nineteen Health & Wellness which is the club we belong to. It’s only 3 miles from home which keeps us from having to drive downtown to the hospital which is really convenient.
The nurse that is teaching the class is histerical. She’s a really nice lady and is as or more enthusiastic about this pregnancy than we are. Last night she covered the 4 stages of labor, how to know if it’s time to go to the hospital, the stages of dialation (scary!!!) and a bunch of other stuff. We even watched a video of a live birth. The birth didn’t bother me so much. It was the delivery of the placenta that almost took me over the edge. No problem. It’s a good thing that we are seeing this stuff now instead of waiting until it’s time. The next class will be next Wednesday so I’ll have more to tell then.
